The Speed at Which Last Nights Vice Happens

Posted by: jfitzsimmons In: Blog

alphateamvanThis is lastnightsvice.com’s first attempt at a true blog post. I wanted a place where the band could talk about what’s going on, and what may or may not be happening. This is where we can speculate about where Last Nights Vice is going, or just rant about completely unrelated crap.

I’m hoping this blog, over time, will show how a hard working, no name band turns in to a slightly more successful, hard working, no-name band.

Right now Last Nights Vice is working harder than ever, even though it seems like we aren’t releasing songs or playing shows like we used to. We currently get together everyday to either practice, write, make phone calls, or work on press for the band. We are looking to make connections, get exposure, get in magazines, blogs, etc… If I had a dollar for every (insert generic music business guy here), that has opened/closed a door for us, I would have a decent amount of dollars. It’s a slow process, but we are covering a lot of ground.

We believe the greatest way to get exposure is to go on tour. We are looking to get a new van soon, but as always we are broke. We’re getting close though, we’ve saved up a good down payment. Most people realize that we make some money playing shows, and selling merch, but as long as you’re in a band you will be spending more money than you make. Just look at the cost of a new amp, or a run of CDs. Sometime soon, we will have a van and we will hit the road again.

We are looking to shoot a music video with a good friend of ours who has worked with a lot of larger bands. I’ll try to expand on this as the details get worked out. We do have two new songs ready for release, and I will get those on the site ASAP. They’re titled “The End is Near” and “Rags to Ruins”

This is the end of my first post. Hopefully we will get Blake writing about the LNV work-out and diet plan, or Brandon could write about comics and movies, Jordan will write about how to get away with not grooming yourself for long periods of time, and Andrew can write about the scary depths of his tormented mind.

P.S. – That is the A-Team van. I hope none of you were curious.
